Recently, more than 30 fire service and industry leaders from across the Commonwealth gathered in Washington to represent Pennsylvania’s fire service and advocate for the needs of our communities during the annual “Legislative Program on the Hill.”

The event was the brainchild of longtime fire service leader Stephen “Redman” Flegal of Chester County. More than a decade ago, Redman recognized the need for a non-partisan group of fire service leaders to connect directly with those who represent our firefighters and communities across the Commonwealth, ensuring their voices were heard on legislation that impacts public safety.

This year’s gathering was especially meaningful. The Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association, Firefighters Assoc. of the State of PA, PA Professional Firefighters Association, and PFESI teamed up to rename the event in Redman’s honor, making this the Annual Steve “Redman” Flegal Legislative Program on the Hill.
